First to answer the OP's question, I loved my R6, but it was an 03, they have made a lot of changes since then, and I have not ridden one, I have ridden the new cbr's and I liked them a lot.

I dont know how old the OP is but insurance on a sport bike for anyone around the average age of the people on this forum is going to cost more than the bike does per year, its not worth it.

anyone who says you will regret buying a 600 because its "small" needs to get over themselves, i took my 03 R6 up to 176mph stock - and my buddy hit 10's with his 04 R6 at the track stock ... and there is a magazine article with a pro rider on an R6 all they did was strap the front and drop 1 tooth off the fron sprocket and hit 9's

and those are old bikes now - new bikes would shit all over those numbers ...

If all you do is ride on the street and think that you will regret buying a 600 because its small then do yourselve a favor and dont buy a bike at all because you will kill yourself just as easily on the 600 as you will on the 750/1000. If your buying the bike to race laps around a track I doubt anyone speaking here can ride a 600 to its potential let alone the 750/1000. If your buying the bike to drag race at at track then buy a bigger bike, no replacement for displacement.

crash at 180 or 210 its still game over ...

Thank you. 90% of riders can not push a 600 to it limits anyway. Why go bigger?
